Artur Emidio de Oliveira was born in Itabuna, south of Bahia, on March 31, 1930.
He lived with his parents, farmers, in a modest house of the then “Straight Street” in the neighborhood of Pontalzinho.
He started practicing capoeira when he was only seven years, with Master Dad , Teodoro Ramos, a disciple of Master Baby , of African origin.
Dad at six o’clock in the morning would wake him every day to train. The Master tells about that time: “the practice of Capoeira was forbidden. Mestre Artur Emidio is the predecessor of Capoeira in Rio de Janeiro.
